Pricing & Investment

Q10: How much does exit planning cost?

Investment varies based on scope, complexity, and timeline. Exit planning engagements typically range from $15,000-$75,000+ depending on the depth of work required.

Factors that influence investment:

  • Current state of your business (how much work is needed to get you exit-ready)

  • Timeline to exit (compressed timelines require more intensive work)

  • Complexity of your business (multi-entity structures, international operations, etc.)

  • Level of ongoing support required (monthly retainer vs. project-based)

We provide transparent pricing in our engagement proposal after the strategic assessment. No surprises.

Q11: How do you structure your fees?

We offer three fee structures depending on the engagement:

  1. Monthly Retainer — For ongoing advisory, coaching, or fractional leadership. Provides consistent support and access.

  2. Project-Based — For defined-scope engagements like exit planning, CIM development, or strategic assessments.

  3. Success-Based (M&A Only) — For sell-side M&A representation, we earn a percentage of transaction value at closing. This aligns our incentives with your outcome.

Many engagements combine structures—for example, a monthly retainer for exit planning with a success fee for transaction representation.

Q12: What's included in your M&A success fee?

For sell-side M&A representation, we earn a percentage of the transaction value (typically 3-8% depending on deal size, with lower percentages for larger transactions).

This includes:

  • Business valuation and market positioning

  • CIM (Confidential Information Memorandum) development

  • Buyer identification and outreach

  • Negotiation and deal structuring

  • Due diligence management

  • Transaction support through closing

Unlike brokers who charge upfront fees regardless of outcome, our success fee model means we only get paid when you do. Our incentives are completely aligned with yours.

Q13: Is there a minimum engagement?

For retainer-based services (coaching, fractional leadership, buy-side advisory), we typically require a 3-6 month minimum commitment. This ensures we have enough runway to create meaningful impact.

For project-based work (exit planning, strategic assessments), there's no minimum—engagements are scoped to the work required.

For M&A representation (sell-side), there's typically a 6-12 month engagement window from preparation through closing.
